While Richard thought of pasting his useless 1974 Lamborghini onto the wall and make sense, the guys from Edo Competition thought of giving a modern day Lamborghini a run for all its worth.
The Edo Competition people tuned a Lamborghini LP 640 Murcielago to achieve a record breaking top speed of 214.8 miles per hour. To make the feat thoroughly precise, they used the highly popular, TUV-Rheinland’s GPS-based measuring system.
The Lambo christened Edo Competition Lamborghini Murcielago LP 640 Versione Nardo was taken to the limit at the test track in Nardo, Italy. The performance was derived using a 6.5-liter V12 engine that boasts of 663 horses.
The tuning included changes in the ECU calibration, usage of new high flow air filters and high performance catalytic converters, purposely designed for the LP640.
Most of us would have had a laid back attitude and would have been satisfied with this speed barrier crossed; Edo Competition tends to disagree by setting even higher goals. Their next target is to topple 224 mph for which they would have to take the power beyond 700 hp.
