Rising fuel costs have forced car manufacturers to think about vehicles that are sustainable and also use alternative sources of energy. The most promising in this field seem to be electrically powered cars. Electricity produces neither smoke nor noxious gases. Hence, electric vehicles (EV) have taken up a major part of conceptualizing and designing agenda of auto manufacturers. These clean and green vehicles promise a better alternative to the smoke spewing petrol driven cars of today. The alternate source of energy might also give car designers the freedom to try different shapes and contours.
This freedom is explicitly expressed in Xavier Media’s Electric Shock, a design proposal for an electric car. The car has large wheels in the front and a conspicuous hood. Probably run by Duracell, these cars would have a glass top to let the sun in and help you have a better view. The car’s unconventional design also makes it feel like a futuristic racecar.
