Chris Davies, (a Liberal Democrat Member of the European Parliament for the North West of England), comes up with the silliest proposal to ban making of cars which can do above 101 mph. blah, blah, blah...

In favor of his silly proposal he states that between the periods of 1994 to 2004 there is a massive increase of 28% in the power of new cars that resulted in increase in weight and thus increase in its Co2 emissions. And as far as speed is concerned there is no increase in the speed limit to make use of that extra energy.

As ugly as it sound it won’t stop the parliament from voting this project in autumn. But I think before this proposal goes to the parliament, Mr. Davies should be made aware of the fact that Co2 emission is a result of engine efficiency and fuel consumption and not with the weight of the car.

Also to make Mr. Davies aware that auto companies are striving every day for the improvement to make more and more nature friendly cars. And spending a large sum of money on research and development. What more does Mr Davies want?

Just a proposal, nothing to worry about. These mis-informed people like Davies that have been suggesting stuff like this even in the past hopefully won’t get anywhere in the EU parliament.
