The wait for Ferrari’s next model is nearly over. Ferrari will unveil its new F430 Scuderia at the Frankfurt motor show in September, and the man unveiling it is Michael Schumacher. A good choice to unveil a car that carries a lot of technology used by Ferrari in F1 racing. Incidentally, the name, Scuderia is a nickname given to the Ferrari F1 team.

This coupe will line up with Ferrari’s F430 coupe and the F430 spider. The 430 Scuderia is a high performance vehicle. Ferrari focused on three areas for development of this car: vehicle dynamics, control and performance.
This approach has led them to the development of a car that will have the weight-to-power ratio of just 2.45kg per horsepower! The dry weight of the Scuderia is only 1250kg, a 100kg less than F430. Weight reduction has been achieved by the use of carbon fiber and other composites in place of metals. The internal luxury suffers a bit, carbon fiber has replaced the leather trim and there is no radio or carpeting. The two-seater comes with two racing style bucket seats.

A naturally aspirated 4308cc V8 will power this machine with 510hp at 8500rpm. Ferrari’s F1 auto-clutch manual 6-speed gearbox with carbon fiber shift paddles is the only transmission available, and it comes with the latest F1 software ‘Superfast’. Superfast will ensure that the gearchange times don’t cross 60 milliseconds. A new traction control system will combine the E-Diff electronic differential and the F1-Trac traction and stability control in a single unit.
Gold, ten-spoked wheels perhaps made of forged magnesium are exclusive to the Scuderia. Ferrari says this special series aims at its most passionate and sports-driving oriented clients.
Though Ferrari has not given out the production numbers, this car will most probably be a limited, special offering. Another wonderful car from the house of Ferrari.
