The iconic Fiat 500 is one sweet handling pocket rocket that can be hustled around narrow city roads at thrillingly insane speeds. Now, a team of Abarth engineers and designers have gotten together to make the diminutive Fiat 500 race ready. The Fiat 500 now becomes the Fiat 500 Abarth Assetto Corse and this little car packs in a very mean punch. For this, the original 1.4 liter turbo engine gets some serious mods to deliver two hundred galloping horses and three hundred Nm of tyre burning torque.
These power and torque figures will surely make the light Fiat 500 a real hoot to drive. Handling too, gets the Abarth treatment with lowered suspension, 17 inch alloys and a smart roof spoiler at the back. For added downforce, the frontal bumpers get widened to complement the very wide air dam. Racing eye candy includes a hot paint job with racing stripes on the roof and the sides. To catch this little pocket rocket in the flesh, you can trot off to the iconic Mille Miglia 2008 that is currently underway. Meanwhile, to keep things very exclusive, Abarth will make only 49 of these very special Fiat 500s.
