Another feather is ready for Fiat 500’s cap. The car that has won numerous accolades and awards over time has now been judged as the ‘2008 European Car of the Year’. Fiat 500 has been selling like hot cakes ever since its release this year; the car has won the hearts of journalists and people alike, no wonder 58 journalists from 22 countries on the panel for the Car of the Year awards voted for this small car.
Fiat 500 was way ahead of its competitors in the final points tally, beating the runner up Mazda 2 by a cool 60 points. Kia’s Cee’d came in third, followed by Nissan Qashqai and Mercedes-Benz’s C-class. Fiat’s 500 is extremely affordable to buy and boasts of a good fuel economy. Styling of the exterior and interiors of the car have also gone down well with the consumers.
