One of the interests and advantages Fiat had in striking up a deal with Chrysler obviously was that the deal would open up the North American market for the Italian automaker. This idea may soon bear fruit with the availability of the Fiat 500 in Chrysler dealerships.
Chrysler may also be considering a cash program to haul up sales of the 500 in the USA. Fiat has been out of the American market for decades and it’s deal with Chrysler is seen as a step towards entering the market again. If things go well, Fiat’s entry to the US market may begin in under 18 months, with the 500 leading the charge.
