After displaying at 2006 Challenge Bibendum, Fiat Automoveis, of Brazil has launched the world’s first four-fueled production vehicle, the 1.4 Tetrafuel Fiat Siena. The Magneti Marelli made, Electronic Control Unit (ECU) selects fuels — natural gas or gasoline or pure ethanol (E100) or gasohol (20% alcohol/gasoline blends) depending upon the levels of torque and acceleration needed by the vehicle.
The car has an enhanced 1.4-liter engine and all electric readouts that warn the driver when the liquid fuel falls below 4% of its capacity.
The new Fiat Siena will be sold in Brazil from next month with prices ranging from $US18,900 for standard motors and $US14,300 for taxis.
