Grand Punto



With the launch of the new Grand Punto, Fiat has enjoyed the eminent place in European auto sales last May. As the European car sales goes up so is Fiat’s car sales. Last May, Fiat went on to claim the top spot in European auto sales, with a corresponding rise of market share from 5.5 percent to 7.8 percent. Most of its buyers, the company states, as it has always been are from Italy.



In addition to the Punto, Fiat Group’s Alfa Romeo and Lancia brands were equally well-received. Fiat also witnessed a nearly 5 percent jump in mid-day trading on Thursday.



In addition to Fiat, most Asian brands sold well. Volkswagen scored well too, except for its Audi, Seat and Skoda brands. Equally successful was DaimlerChrysler (except for SMART),GM and Ford. However, it was a disappointment for Renault and Nissan.
