Fiat MultiAir engines promise to make gasoline engines much better, in a number of ways. The Fiat Multiair technology makes use of electro-hydraulic variable valve actuation for fresh air charge in the cylinders. Fiat says this technique is superior to the currently used variable valve technologies and can result in a 10% increase in fuel efficiency, a 10% increase in max power, and a 15% increase in low rpm torque.
