Here is the first photo of the all-new BMW X5 taken while road testing around Munich. This new design is 16 cm longer and 6 cm wider than the present ones. More over, it boasts of more high tech gadgets to liven up the car.
It provides more space and gets the innovated x-Drive AWD and advanced wheel-by-wheel traction control.
It will be released by October 2006.

Nothing wrong with the X5 per se, as those BMW gas tank cap and tank-like 4×4 things go, it’s probably rather good. I think if you re-read my comment, I made no criticism of the car’s ability or tangible qualities. It was you who headlined your review with the rather bold statement that that it’s the king of the ”stylish” 4×4’s and I was just arguing with that sentiment.
Whilst it is true that the majority of X5’s I see on my 60 mile daily M3/M25/M40/A40 commute are driven by people who think the rules of the road somehow do not apply to them, it is somewhat unfair, with hindsight, for me to generalise in such a way. For that I unreservedly apologise.
It just seems strange however to write a glowing review of the car’s tangible good points, but to mention the car’s ”style” in the headline. Style means different things to different people, and there are a lot of people to whom style is absolutely not reflected in a 4×4 wearing a BMW badge.
