While we wait for flying cars from the likes of Moller to come, the numerous firms trying to make flying cars, DARPA included, may want to have a look at this car that is more than half a century old. Built by Moulton B. Taylor in 1956, the car is street legal and FAA approved as well. The car comes with wings, tail and propeller, which can be attached when it needs to fly, or folded and stashed away when on the road.
Powered by a 160hp engine, the car can fly at 165mph, and currently has 1,103 flying hours and 303 hours on road. The seller says the last annual inspection was carried out in 1976, but the car has gone through an inspection by an FAA licensed mechanic in 2006. If you have $3.5 million to spend, this car appears to be totally worth it.
