Highways may soon give way to ‘flyways’; courtesy cars that zoom to the skies. Only recently had we written about the M 200G, a car that hovers 10 feet above the ground, the maximum for an unlicensed pilots; but here’s another car from Urban Aeronautics that can go 12,000 feet in the sky!

Urban Aeronautics’ flying car, christened X-Hawk can go to a height of 12,000 feet with a maximum speed of 155mph. Whew! But that’s not all, this car will have the maneuverability of a helicopter along with vertical take off and landing capabilities. This car may also be capable enough to ‘hug’ the sides of buildings, something no helicopter can do.

The car is likely to be seen in the skies by early 2009. But it isn’t time to book an order yet, or to get a pilot’s license; this car will be available only to millitary and rescue services. But if you must fly in a car, have a look at the M 200G.
