Mustang customers now have one more roof option, a factory installed glass roof. Demand for large sunroofs has been increasing and Ford has responded by putting one on top of one of its hot selling models. Made of tinted privacy glass, it reduces infrared rays and vehicle cool-down time by 50 percent. Should you choose to stop the shine from the roof, a manual roller blind is built in.
Glass used in the roof is safety glass, so in event it breaks, there will not be any sharp or jagged edges. Ford has also ensured that the roof does not meddle with the structural integrity of the vehicle. This roof will be a $1,995 option when it goes on sale next summer. Ford has been thinking about such roofs for sometime now. The production version of the Verve Concept is also likely to have the glass roof as a factory installed option.
