Ford has tied with Kellogg’s, Hot Wheels and Target into a marketing maneuver that is intended to promote Ford products by putting them on (and inside) cereal boxes. Consumers also have a chance to win a Ford Mustang, Edge or F-150.
The vehicles will be on nearly a million packages of Kellog’s that will be sold at Target stores. The special boxes will also contain Hot Wheels collector cards with a picture of Mustang, Edge or F-150. Collecting these cards will give the consumers a chance to win the real vehicle, or you may get a coupon for a free Ford-model Hot Wheels basic car.
Cereals are big business in America. Americans spend nearly $7.5 billion annually on cereals, and they are the most popular items sold in grocery stores after soft drinks and milk. Kellogg’s estimates say a cereal box is read approximately five times in a typical household. This makes it a very potent marketing tool. And with the goodies packed inside it, breakfast is going to be fun.
Time for breakfast!
