Now that India is experiencing economic growth, low inflation, and stable currency, Ford feels it is a fertile ground to start launching its fleet. Such venture will begin during the fourth quarter of this year with models like S80 and XC90 landing here first followed by other models later.
Ford was inspired by the prediction — increased sales from 1 million cars per year to 1.6 million over next few years. Ford shares This gives us an excellent foundation for starting sales of Volvo cars on this market.
Ford will establish three dealerships for realizing this goal. In the meantime, we Indians are looking forward to Ford’s coming and would be nice to see whether it can outrun Toyota and Maruti.
