Ford plans to make abrasive radio signals a thing gone in history. The company aims at putting in HD digital radio on almost all of its upcoming Lincoln and Mercury vehicles coming in for 2008 model year.
The new installation will be optional and will surely be giving the motorists some more Radio contents with an enhanced reception.
Around 1500 radio stations use HD digital sound for broadcasting there programs in the United States. And if we believe, Ford motors radio will present all its tech savvy consumers with their own entertainment option.
The company has recently rolled out Sync; in-vehicle communication and entertainment system developed in association with Microsoft corp.
The option will cost around $279 for the standard HD radio and just $29 more for the version with iPOD compatibility. The installation process will be taking just about 30 minutes, with no monthly subscription expenses.
One good news for the owners of 2005 to 2007 built vehicles is that they can also get their HD radio installed, obviously for an additional charge.
