Freightliner introduced the Cascadia for on highway applications. Built from an entirely new platform, the Cascadia delivers significant fuel savings and is designed based on the Run Smart™ philosophy to be the most productive, efficient, and drivable truck on the market. Plus, with its new styling, a quieter and more comfortable cab, ergonomic controls, and exceptional handling. The technology promises 3 percent more fuel efficiency.
It is the first truck built and engineered using Freightliner’s wind tunnel. The design will be a great relief for the truck building industries as it can flexible adapt to the EPA ‘07 emission engines in addition it features expandable DaimlerChrysler-engineered electronic platform that can easily accommodate the technology.
The company has paid a lot of stress to come up with a design keeping in mind the needs of the consumers and cost-saving features to comfort options and aesthetic attributes. The design includes improved diagnostics, an HVAC system designed to reduce repair frequency, breakaway side extendersm, easy-to-replace roped-in windshield, extended life headlamp bulbs.
The engineers have also fixed the design to comfort the drivers and have introduced a wider cab with automotive styling, ergonomic controls, and extensive lighting and storage space.
The Cascadia is available for order in mid-May, with trucks rolling off production lines in August 2007.
