Electronics with transparent bodies have been around for sometime now, and designer Niels Grubak Iversen now seeks to apply that to automobiles, with his Gamma concept. The concept’s body uses transparent polycarbonates and composite materials to reveal the underlying parts. The transparency of course, comes from the polycarbonate, which is then glued to the aluminum chassis, reinforced by carbon and kevlar. If you drooled over the transparent engine covers of the Audi R8 concept, then Gamma takes the pitch even higher. Transparency is really cool, and watching the machinery in motion would more than make up for the extensive cleaning effort you’d have to put in to this car.
