I thought the best ever tuned Beetle I saw was the one recently tuned by the Belgian, Jimmy Marinus who modified the VW Beetle to give an improved exterior appearance as well more power at 180 Horses but JRD Tuners have dethroned Jimmy’s car probably owing to the fact that it is a professional Tuning House .
JRD plans to upgrade the VW Beetle to produce either 250 hp or 385 hp. JRD would use an HPA R32 3.2 liter V6 engine, up boosted with twin turbochargers to achieve those 385 horses.
It would definitely feel different driving a beetle with so much more power and this enhancement obviously calls for upgrades on few other facets of the car viz. Chassis, brakes, wheels and tires. There will also be an optional glass roof section and a foldable spoiler.
The drive coordination will be either a conventional front wheel one or the Audi Quattro (AWD). It was just today we mentioned the growing importance of small cars and this one definitely fits in the elite bracket of that range, which means JRD could make some real big bucks in this venture.
