When we talk about aerodynamics related to automobile manufacturing, the use of carbon fiber comes to mind. The use though is restricted to the body-frame or the interiors and the prime aim of the material use is to cut air faster so as to produce better results. It also contributes to the overall reduction in body weight and thus more and more cars are bringing it to use. The car manufactures though do not use wheels made out of the same material. It may sound strange to you but the people who witnessed the last edition of the Tokyo Auto Salon must be aware about an all carbon-fiber wheel. Manufactured by Weds Sport, the stunning wheel only weighs 2.76 kg but the problem is that the high manufacturing cost tags them at around $12,000 per set. The company also gives a cheaper alternative in a wheel that adorns carbon only on the facing, whilst aluminium takes the left over space. I won’t quite recommend this set of wheels until an expert puts it to test on a test track. There is no guarantee of these wheels doing well as no big carmaker has adorned the technology until now. When it does happen we would update you for sure here on automotto.
