General Motors looks set for a heavy-duty vehicle recall next February as revealed by the company resources. The recall involves flagship models ranging from the Cadillac CTS, STS, and SRX to the Pontiac Solstice and the Saturn Sky Convertibles.
A total of 3, 13,000 vehicles would be recalled by the company which include 275,936 vehicles in the US and the rest in Mexico, Canada, Middle East Asia. The vehicles are being recalled because of a fluid loss problem that can lead to a potential danger of the driver loosing control of the vehicle.
The seal on the rear axle pinion that provides power to the wheels does not meet all the requisite specifications and the same could lead to jamming and locking of the steering. Two incidents have been reported until date where similar flaws have led to the driver losing control of the vehicle.
The replacement would begin next February and all that predictably would happen free of charge as its purely the company’s fault.
