GM is another auto manufacturer that wants to explore the potential of the Indian auto market. Yesterday, the world’s best automaker made it public - its plan to launch mini cars in India in the first half of 2007.
GM India President and Managing Director, Rajeev Chaba told reporters:
The mini car would be rolled out from our Halol facility and this would get the benefit of excise duty cut for small cars announced by the government in this year’s budget.
GM also launched on Thursday — a sports car, Chevrolet SRV, in Delhi.
Great, now Indians can get all the luxurious foreign cars we have been drooling at, right at our doorstep.
