General Motors’ Carousel is one concept car that takes flexibility and customization to stratospheric heights. The Carousel, a brainchild of the GM designer Adrian Chernoff is designed to look like a skateboard. Everything about the Carousel is futuristic, more so it’s drive by wire system. This system lets the driver drive the Carousel with a pedal based control system or with the hand held system that would make gaming consoles look very outdated. The seating positions can be moved around at will with the driver being able to sit in different positions. Keeping with it’s futuristic theme, the Carousel is powered by fuel cells which are powered by hydrogen from an on-board hydrogen tank. This makes the Carousel a car to watch out for in the future. Talking about the future, General Motors doesn’t have any plans of launching this concept anytime too soon. So, for the time being, the Carousel will remain a concept and a very brilliant one at that.

Nice post! It only shows why General Motors remain the world’s number one car manufacturer for the last 80 years. Despite the status of GM in the industry, it is still experiencing financial challenges that threaten the longevity of the company. In 2008, their place as number one car-maker was taken by Toyota, a Japanese car manufacturer. I guess the government should help GM to get on track, if they don’t, then lots of American workers in GM will be stripped off with their jobs.
