Yes, this is the fact. As per a recent survey half of the UK drivers don’t know what hybrid actually means. They’re oblivious of the fact that it’s a mix of petrol and electric engine and believe that ‘hybrid’ meant two cars welded together.



The onus to this lack of awareness goes to car manufacturers for not presenting the concept in a positive way. To give the introduction of all these environmentally friendly cars a fillip, automobile firms have to emphasize on the fact that this is the future and in order to minimize the emissions and improve fuel economy owners will have to keep their options open.



The in-built electric motor inside a hybrid car not only gives a boost during acceleration to the engine but also charges the battery. Honda, Toyota, Ford have already shifted their focus to hybrid petrol-electric engines but in order to make green technology a reality, they’ve to penetrate the customers mind and that too soon.
