If you wanted the best hand-built convertible of the year to be yours, then you might want to go ahead and bid for this in the auction on eBay. But the only problem with that is that this car is the hand-built convertible of the year and was awarded that honor way back in 1951. Somehow you would think that it would diminish the price of the car, yet in the automobile world vintage stuff from the past fetch you a price that is far better than what most of the modern cars go for. This car falls in the exact same category.
This one-of-a-kind roadster, which won Motor Trend’s “Custom Convertible of the Year” in 1951, was built completely from scratch by a father and son team over a half a century ago. It’s powered by a flathead V8 and uses parts from fourteen different cars. It would be quite a test to try and find out which 14 different cars were the ones to have contributed in making this one possible. The convertible always offers a bit more of a choice than normal and it looks really good too.
It is supposed to go at a price of around $ 750,000 and with time it will surely fetch you a lot more. Do not be surprised if you see it coming up for auction in a year or two once again and then it might just get a lot more expensive. Now how I wish my mobile also got costlier by the year when I use it!
