hankook enfren

Tire manufacturer Hankook has rolled out its range of “enfren” low rolling resistance tires that offer greater fuel economy. They claim a 5.1% saving over conventional steel radials and official Korean Automotive Institute tests say the use of these tires can be responsible for about 4.1g/km less CO2 emissions. This can amount to 820kg less CO2 in the atmosphere, per car in a 10 year span.

Hankook’s enfren tires offer a rolling resistance coefficient of 8.32, which is 21 percent less than the conventional 10.54. According to Hankook, the savings come from the use of pure silica, special bonding agents and mixing technology.
