The Beast: Freight Train, a powerful Harley Davidson bike will be brought back on roads again at the Food AutoFair at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. The history goes back to Elmer Trett, who built the twin-engine Harley-Davidson Sportster in the early 1970s. Later, the bike was bought by Frank Spittle in in83 and he even could do 7.63 seconds in the quarter-mile at 191.27 mph. His crew chief Jimmy “T-Bird” Yelton rebuilt the Freight Train (Spittle named it so). However, the bike is still the same and not much has changed in the way it looks from what it used to be when Trett built it in 1970s.
The Machine: The Freight Train has two 96-cubic-inch Harley-Davidson V-twin engines and runs on a fuel mixture of 92 percent nitromethane and eight percent methanol. The rear tire is huge and looks mean. The bike can still move real fast and looks big, string and sturdy.

The Thrill: It is really cool when you get to see a bike that is old and still is so sturdy and interesting. We must encourage Fair organizers to feature many more of such old bikes as that would give them a new lease of life. The Freight Train however will definitely steal the show with its awesome looks.
