Where there is a will, there is a way, in case of the X-Bow from KTM this saying suites the bunch of people who egged on KTM to push the X-Bow concept into production for otherwise only a 100 would have been produced making them unobtrusive in the throng in spite of possessing admirable virtues.

Vehemently acknowledging the enthusiasm of the people who created this concept, I feel a great a sense of relief in letting you people know that the X-Bow will now be mass-produced. Prior to this announcement KTM had plans to have Dallara manufacture a pilot series of 100 units.

In the last two months, KTM received orders for 600 cars, which made them believe that this car will be a sure winner and thus the mass production was given a nod ahead. Consequently, the production has now been handed over to Magna Steyr Fahrzeugtechnik and it will start as early as 2008, with the first delivery being made in February.

Coming to the statistical part, the company will try to reach a production milestone of a 1000 units per year while the first 100 units produced could be a special series. The company hasn’t made any official announcement regarding a drop in the price but a series production would likely mean a drop, which too won’t go beyond $55,000 US.

The pricing is justifiable enough as a company cannot produce a car weighing only 700 Kilograms yet boasting of 300 bhp for mere peanuts.
