The pictured above is the prototype four-door Honda Type R Civic that is modeled on JDM/ASEAN market Civic sedan. There are strong chances of the Type R variant to hit the US roads in 2010.

The pictured car boasts a 2.0-liter iVTEC engine offering nearly 220 horsepower, common suspension and appearance alterations. Anyway, the JDM was being used as the official pace car for the 2006 F1 Japan Grand Prix.
The existing Civic Si in the US is being dominated by high-horsepower entries like the Mazdaspeed3 and Subaru WRX, so we can treat it as a good move to introduce a Type R in the States.
