Ever wonder how fuel efficient is your personal car? Check out the Fuel Efficiency Automobile Test(FEAT) data. The latest news in the FEAT testing is that: Honda City i-DSI is pretty efficient. The i-DSI model result shows it gets about 26.2 km per liter, which is pretty good for a car of it’s class.
What makes the Honda City achieve such fuel efficiency ?
The answer lies in the 12V-16V VTEC mechanism This concept engine is designed in such a way that it becomes highly fuel efficient. The idea is to balance out good power and good consumption.

The two most important elements in any vehicle are air and fuel. The air fuel mixture is what makes all the difference. The i-DSI engine is geared toward s complete combustion which results in maximum mileage and greater fuel efficiency. This engine was put to test during the FEAT competition.
The Challenge
For this competition, Honda along with 15 other participants tested fuel efficiency of different engines.
* In order to do so, all participants had to stick to 80 Kmph average speed like on the highways.
* The participants had to drive 660 kms. with less than half a tank of petrol and fully car. I think this is probably the best way to test out vehicles and fuel efficiency as well as maneuverability.
* The route was set from Honda HQ in Petaling Jaya to Cameron Highlands situated at 5440 feet above sea level. After a night’s rest, the participants would drive back to Bukit Merah.
Who won?

* Three out of four winners drove Honda City i-DSI
* Everyone had their own kind of driving style but all participants managed to drive 660 kms. with just one tank of gas.
* The winners took home 4000 RM worth of prizes offered by Honda.
The other participants beside Honda itself were Toyota, Hyundai, Suzuki, Mercedes, Peugeot. I think this was a great competition and there should be more in future as well.
