Honda is looking to patent a free access scheme that will provide drivers with information regarding the traffic conditions on the road ahead. The scheme will include mini car cams to monitor the road conditions. These cameras will send the data to the central server using cell phone connections. The data sent will include traffic stats and GPS location and speed of the car that will be further analyzed by the server to generate a digital map of the area. The fixed cameras by the roadside may supplement the data.
The system will take care of the privacy, as the footages will be sent anonymously and an automatic switch-off function of the cameras at the point when the car is close to the destination. System will be of great help in reducing road traffic and extends a solution to parking problem, as it will also let you know about the parking place in advance.
