A member of the Jalopy Journal recently wanted to make a copy of his old Velorex sidecar. What finally was offered as a solution was to get some carbon fiber and fiberglass stuff from a guy at Applied Vehicle Technology. Mold release paste wax could be used to coat it and then the body could be sprayed on with paint. Using one’s tooling gel coat, one must apply the wax and fill in the voids. The key is to buy gelcoats in small quantities so that it doesn’t become too heavy on your pockets. Once your coating and spraying is over, you will have a copy of the sidecar, which you always wanted.
