Hydrogen fuelled Toyota Prius will soon capture your fancy. The future car was showcased at the National Hydrogen Association Conference and is now being put to the test in southern California.
Energy Conversion Devices-Ovonics has powered the car with a fuel cell and has equipped it with metal hydride storage tank that can hold enough hydrogen to drive for nearly 200 miles. The “hydrogen hybrid” has gone a complete makeover, now including a solid hydrogen storage system, retrofitted turbocharger, gaseous fuel delivery system, plus modified ignition and fuel metering software.
