Matus Prochaczka is a pure amateur, who has spilled out wonderful concepts not to miss the eye-catching designs and I feel that they are laudable enough to mention in our auto section hence, I contacted him for an email interview, contents of which you’ll see after a li’le jump.

1. Who is Matus Prochaczka in flesh and blood?
Matus: Matus Prochaczka is a person, who in 99 percent finish everything what he started. He likes sketching and 3D modeling very much and work with high challenges.
2. What is the practical application of Hamster Wheel designed by you?
Matus: Yes Hamster wheel, good impression. But the main idea of concept was to do something which suggests thoroughly different looking of average cars, together with new unused technology yet. The thing is that construction of those ring wheels comes from idea that car is very light. Why so? Because it set on magnetic plate. And when will be the same polarity magnets in for example concrete road, that we can use magnetic repulsion to lift car, and make it around 60% lighter than it is. So construction of wheels can be very daring.

3. You have been a recipient at the interiormotivesdesign award, what was this for and how has this kind of recognition, benefitted your career?
Matus: I have been at Interiormotivesdesign awards for 2 years and 2 times win one category. I wanted, like all people at design competitions, to win and show that is something in me – talent and something creative. This is the first step to enter the car design industry. The benefit is that some people knows me, but nobody from car design spheres didn´t contact me yet, what is I guess pity.

4. What type of rendering do you like most and why?
Matus: I like realistic renderings, and even try to reach it somehow. I like glossy surfaces with environment map reflections and together with bionic shaped surfaces.
5. Can you walk us through the general steps you take when you’re designing a project car?
Matus: First of all, I dream and wonder about new idea of moving of humans. Not average, something smart, special and combined with very new shapes...but not unreachable future. And in magnetic power I have seen big possibilities, because they are used very few and they afford power with zero input.

6. Do you think there’s something you’re most proud of so far, one particular project that came off really well?
Matus: I am most proud about project for Peugeot design contest 2007, because the idea and design of my car has big success and many people on all the world gave me high ratings, and no matter that it doesn´t reach finalist group.

7. What do you prefer, a freelance project or a sponsored one and why?
Matus: Freelance projects are somehow more funny, because you have more or less free hands. In sponsored projects, every time something is holding you or pushing you in particular direction, which is not maybe as magnificent way as you planed.
8. Your designs are basically targeted to which international market?
Matus: Well, my projects look farther than actual markets can produce, but 2020 is not so far. Production of my designs could be used in strong countries with high level of industry and adaptability. Hence, Europe and American markets would be the ultimate target.

9. Concepts of auto designers are ahead of its time, in the sense that the designs have futuristic undertone, what do you have to say in this regard?
Matus: Yes it is perfect way, but what we see nowadays in concepts are all extremely good looking details, ideas and used future technologies. Then concept became to production car and all pluses of concept disappear and we find out that car in front of us has miserably few common design components. In my opinion the progress in exterior design and using moving technologies is small.

10. As you tread towards future, what do you expect from yourself? And what excites you most?
Matus: I will stay in actual work in small industrial design studio in Austria and will wait for good opportunity to work in car design sphere, or in transport design industry. To design real cars is my biggest dream.

11. Any words of wisdom, you’d like to leave for our readers?
Matus: I would like to say any word of wisdom, but I am young and half year after finish school, so is very soon to give some primes in design from my side.
12. Finally, we’d like to have your views on Auto Motto?
Matus: My views in Auto Motto are even my wishes that ecological technology grows in next ten years and eco gases, or Li-On battery cells, or other electric propulsions will completely rule the world.

Quick bits:
Describe your style, like a good friend of yours would describe it.
Matus: My style is to start something, put maximum in, make it perfect and finish it in time and exactly like I had plane it on start.
Your favorite car companies would be?
Matus: Buggatti, Audi, Webber design.
Do the contemporary cars focus more features and benefits than looks and style, how do you delineate the present market?
Matus: The problem is that good looking cars, with aggressive or sport looking are very expensive, but some of brands are working on it, and shows that could exist good design looking cars for middle car price ranges. The best example is new Fiat Brava. On the other side all new cars even the small ones are on high safe quality with 4 or 5 stars in EURO NCAP. Interiors groves also very quick, we see new ideas and technologies became in production very soon. So this is best benefit of cars nowadays, but in exterior design is in my opinion still small progress.
If you had to walk in another person’s shoes for a day, it would have to be?
Matus: I have played football for many years, though half professional, so I have very close feelings to this game and life, hence it will be football player Lampard from Chelsea London.
If you could choose to make a dream come true, it would be?
Matus: Own designed futuristic sport car for two person with electric engine 100% ecological, with unusual looking.

Thank you Matus for sparing out time in doing an interview with us, it is greatly appreciated. I’d also like to wish you success for all your future endeavors.

His designs are definitely futuristic and well made. I really hope that I will see at least one of his designs on the road in the future. By then, probably all vehicles would be running on a fuel saver magnetic engine.
