With reference to Commerce and Industry Minister Kamal Nath’s speech many big foreign automobiles and its related companies like BMW, Bosch, Mann and Volkswagon are planning to set up or expand their units in India.
BMW will invest about Rs 900 crores in the long-term at their manufacturing facility in Chennai. Auto component maker Bosch, would invest 500 million Euros at their subsidiary in India named MICO, while Mann would invest 300 million Euros for a factory at Pitampura in Madhya Pradesh to manufacture trucks and buses. Even Volkswagon has expressed its committment to set up a base in India.
