Premium brands are in a mood to do the SUV thing. Porsche Cayenne is already on the streets, Lamborghini is purported to be building one and now there are reports that Ferrari wants an SUV for itself as well.
World Car Fans says Ferrari is in the works for developing the fastest SUV around, with a top speed hanging around the 300kmph mark. Codenamed ‘Ferrari FS 599 Fuoristrada’, the SUV is likely to sprint from zero to 100kmph in less than five seconds despite its mammoth weight, thanks to F-1 type shift pedals on the steering wheel and engine that develops 600hp and 600Nm torque.
The Super SUV is likely to get its engine from Ferrari F599 Fiorano, though with some tidbits of modifications. The SUV is likely to debut at the Geneva Auto Show in 2010 with a price tag of €250,000.
