JJAD, found by former McLaren employee Jim Dowle, has released a rendering of its P1E all electric sportscar. The car will weigh only about 1050kg due to the extensive use of composites for body panels and a lightweight structure made from hybrid aluminum-carbon fiber.
Fed by lithium ion batteries, the two electric motors in the car will be able to pump out a total of 390 hp of power and 590 lb-ft of torque. With that power flowing, the automaker expects the car to zoom from zero to 60mph in just 2.9 seconds and going all the way to a top speed of 130mph. The car is expected to cover 200 miles on a complete charge.
The company is currently developing a prototype, and expects to go into a 500 unit limited production run by 2012. Though that sounds pretty quick, a lot is going on at the electric car front, and makers of the P1E will obviously get to benefit from the experiences of the likes of Tesla and GM.

This is the beginning of the new future of the car. Electric operation has so many potential benefits.
I’m a petrol-head, but this will be almost guilt free performance. Certainly looking forward to see what can be done with my preferred mode of transport though. Motorbikes!
1050 lbs and 390 HP I bet it can do 9 second quarter miles with the right tires that a great weight to HP rato
