From a whooping quoted price of 300,050 euros on Saturday, the 39-year-old Volkswagen Beetle once driven by Germany’s soccer coach, Juergen Klinsmann in 1994 and 1995 while at Tottenham Hotspur, dropped to a mere 5,605 euros on Monday. The plunge resulted after the seller imposed registration by the interested parties to prove that they were serious.
The car’s owner, who lives in a Stuttgart suburb, wrote in the internet auction eBay:
Unfortunately there were some offers made by people who were not serious. The changes were made to give only serious bidders a chance.
Bidding closes on Tuesday. However, don’t go for this one...Klinsmann is not advising anyone to do so because it was already rusted when he gave it away ten years ago. Can you imagine what state it must be in now?
