Cars have become so fast that they nearly challenge the speed of jets. The contest earns a greater degree of hype when the car racing the jet is inspired from a jet itself. The F-22 raptor inspired Lamborghini Reventon challenged a Panavia Tornado jet-fighter for a drag race on the 3km stretch of the runway at Ghedi air force base in Italy.
The Reventon got the advantage in the start, thanks to its quick acceleration that kicks the car from zero to 100kmph in just 3.4 seconds. Beating a jet in a race obviously is no easy stuff; the Tornado recovered at the closing stages of the race and took to the air, surpassing the 340kmph top speed of the Reventon.
