With the number of motorcycle accidental fatalities on an increase in the United Kingdom, it is more than necessary for the researchers across the country to come out with ways that help improve the rider’s stance in terms of safety on a bike. The best possible way in all cases is to make pretense of a situation that is creating a virtual circumstance so as to understand the reforms required. A team of researchers and some Final year Mechanical Engineering students at Nottingham University in the UK have done so by creating the Triumph Motorbike, which is a virtual motorcycle simulator developed with the intent to improve safety and design esthetics for a two wheeler.

This simulator in tandem with its software, projects giant images at the front and the back of a rider, giving him an exact picture of the entire scenario whilst riding. It even succeeds in replicating weather conditions and driving obstacles on road. This technology succeeds in data-mining the rider’s performance and could thus help manufacturers with important facts whilst designing bikes that promise safety. It could also prove invaluable for the road safety organizations in the longer run, not only in the UK, but all the parts of the world where motorcycle related fatalities are a nemesis.
