Porsche has unveiled a new version of the mid-engined Boxter in the form of RS 60 Spyder. Slated to debut at the Bologna Motor Show in Italy next week, the new model owes its origins to classic open top Porsche racers of the sixties.
Based on the Boxter S and covered in GT Silver metallic paint, the limited edition gets a unique front spoiler, 19-inch alloys, a high-flow exhaust with dual pipes and the Porsche Active Suspension Management stability control. The engine delivers a power of 303hp. Interiors covered in contrasting Carrera Red, offer an eye pleasing contrast to the exterior paintjob. Though, if you like another option, you can get a dark grey natural leather interiors with a black roof in place of the red interiors and roof.
A door trim strip of stainless steel bears the ‘RS 60 Spyder’ designation for the limited edition model. Only 1,960 Boxster RS 60 Spyders will roll out of production lines. Scheduled to reach dealerships in March 2008, the car carries a price tag of €53,500.
