Massive as it is, Draka the Dragon looks more like a caravan than an art car. Reaching 112-ft in length, the mutant vehicle by Lisa Nigro is basically a truck followed by three trailers; the entire body sculpted to give the appearance of a dragon, using recycled materials for sculpting. And you don’t want to get close to a dragon, especially the one that can breathe 50-ft flames.
The exteriors may give a “hostile” expression, but the interiors are hospitable with cool décor, a bar and enough seating to hold about 75 people. Her inspiration – The Dragon Clock Tower from the book “The Life & Times of the Wicked Witch of the West,” by Gregory Maguire.

the dragon was the most amazing vehicle, moving across the desert in a slow controlled way and breathing fire! With the wings expanded, I think she was 21’ wide, and a bit tricky to maneuver in tight spaces, but with the articulated body actually easy to get down small streets. I remember everyone wanting to climb aboard and with 2 lounges, one being a bar and other a chill area, she was always full of passengers dancing along to whatever music was playing. Imagine Draka taking us along to all the different festivals all over the country!
Way To Go Sista!
Someday I’ll see the dragon for real!
