Most of us know polyuretherene as a handy fix-it filling with a penchance for bursting into flames at the slightest hint of a spark. I guess that’s not true in Lithuania because a sculptor from the Baltic nation has created a life-size Merc using the highly inflammable material. The artist who specializes in coach-building used batches of PU foam mixed in 2-liter soda bottles to “fill-in” the frame of the car.

The foam was eventually sculpted, sanded, primed and painted on when it was fully set and mounted atop a real functioning roller chassis. We don’t quite know if the dude fitted an engine in the death trap, but we do know that with a self-expanding body in place, he certainly didn’t need to put in any airbags in the things, though I certainly hope he’s got a sizable fire extinguished in the trunk!
