Britain’s first bullet train “Javelin” completed its maiden voyage from Kent to London, traveling at 140mph. The high-speed train reduced the travel time to 37 minutes, a time much less than the current 83 minutes long voyage. Southeastern Trains plan to put 29 bullet trains into action by the time London Olympics start. Passengers will, however, have to pay a higher price to ride in the fast Japan-imported trains. It is expected that fares will go up by almost 35 per cent.

The deployment of these bullet trains will start in December next year. Commuters will probably prefer to travel in these trains and avoid the traffic on the road, but the high fare might be a bit of a dampener.
