APX, Aluminium Performance Crossover, is the first VVA, Versatile Vehicle Architecture, vehicle introduced by Lotus. The chassis will be used to roll out next generation vehicles including the forthcoming mid-engined Esprit replacement in 2008.
The 4×4 171kg APX is powered by 265lb ft supercharged 3.0-litre V6 engine that takes you to 60mph in five seconds. The mileage, as claimed by Lotus will be 32mpg. The aluminium VVA can be swapped between front and mid-engine, thanks to its special casting.
