Lotus is celebrating 40 years of production in its Hethel facility, and as a special gesture, the company has returned to its famed color scheme from the ’70s. Forty Lotus Exige Sprints will be on sale in UK and Ireland, each with a paint scheme of Aspen White on the lower portion of the body while the color of the upper portion can be chosen from Solar Yellow or Persian Blue. A gold stripe that bears the name ‘Exige Sprint’ will separate the two colors.
All cars will have an individually numbered plaque, covering years from 1967 to 2007, but there will be no plate for year 1982. The color scheme has been adapted from the ’71 Elan Sprint, a legend in its time. More standard equipment has been added to the Exige Sprint, these include ultra-lightweight forged alloy wheels, air conditioning, Sport Pack, Touring Pack and performance pack.
Zero to 60mph dash takes 4.0 seconds. Each car also comes equipped with exterior decals and a unique interior trims done in distinctive embroidery. Buyers will also get a heritage pack that includes a certificate signed by Lotus CEO Mike Kimberley and ‘The Lotus Book’ that underlines the production and history of models produced by the marque for the past four decades.
