Created by Czech designer Lukas Vanek, the 2008 Auto Union Type-D is a breathtaking concept that was inspired by the old Auto Union race cars from the 1930s. The concept uses a body made of carbon fiber composite that provide the structural support and rigidity while a metal skin gives the exterior an authentic, simple finish. A 6.5 liter twelve-cylinder engine revs up 650 horsepower (478 kW) and delivers a top speed of 186 mph (300 km/h).
A single, central driver’s seat offers the driver and excellent view of the road while styling elements like central LED taillight strip, exposed carbon fiber centre spine, and barely visible carbon fiber rear spoiler tucked under the tail make the car look supremely modern.
