Palumbo M-80 is the ultimate word in the lightweight car market. With a lightweight body, this baby can go 0 to 60 mph in about 3.9 seconds. Believe it or not - this is actually a very eco friendly hybrid and green sports car.

Initially, this was designed by the American Palumbo company as a mid-engine vehicle to compete with other sports cars. Efficiency and performance are what makes this car unique.

The car designer Joe Palumbo mentions:

The M-80 is an exotic design, with what I call a few conservative lines. This element allows the design to be timeless.

The interior for this 2 seater convertible is great. What makes it great are the:

* leathers and aluminums
* lavish carpeting of the floor

The exterior body is made out of composite materials. I think the low lying lightweight body should give this sports car a great speed.

The technical features targeted are as follows:

* Rear wheel drive
* Constant Variable Transmission (CVT)
* 350 horsepower * 4 wheel disc with ABS

This project is currently being developed by Palumbo. An expected prototype is to be tested pretty soon. The pictures are just the initial design concept. I think once completed, this American made vehicle will be a great competition for the European counterpart: Caparo T1. Pricing information is not posted since the prototype has not been completed yet.
