People in huge masses from all over Britain joined hands and got together to participate in a noble event at the fire stations. The event was organized for raising money for the Fire Services National Benevolent Fund.
As per the station manager at Warminster Fire station Mr. Chris Trimby the day was a success for them as the weather also acted supportive for the cause. Around 80-100 cars got a wash and the fire station was able to raise 300 pounds.
At Westbury fire station around 60 cars and an electric wheel chair were washed. According to Nick Best, Crew manager at Westbury Fire station they were able to come up with a fair amount of around 300 pounds for the cause, plus it was a great opportunity to meet face in face with the local crowd and personally hand out leaflets on fire prevention.
Most of the crew was in a jolly good mood with no fire shouts, incidentally and the fire department was obliged with every single turn up for the cause.
The annual event which gets sponsorship from Angus Fire was a success in raising funds for the FSNBF charity. The charity proceeds will be used to provide support for the injured fire fighters who suffer physical and emotional distress.
